Bwindi in June – The month of June marks the beginning of the dry season in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. During this time, the park receives less rainfall, and the skies are usually very clear.

About Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in southwestern Uganda in three districts: Kabale, Kisoro, and Kanungu.
The park is home to the critically endangered mountain gorillas, with about 459 individuals, which is almost half of those remaining in the wild.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a tropical rain-forest with a tropical climate characterized by heavy rainfall, ranging from 1400mm to 1900mm per year, and temperatures ranging from 7°C to 15°C (minimum) and 20°C to 27°C (maximum).
The park is managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, the body in charge of all national parks in Uganda.
The park covers an area of about 331 square kilometers near the border of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The park is located in the highest parts of the Albertine Rift Highlands, at an altitude of 1190 to 2607 meters above sea level.
How to Access Bwindi
- By Road: Tourists can travel from Kampala or Entebbe by car for about 9 to 10 hours to reach the park. The park is about 487 km away from Kampala. Tourists coming from Kigali, Rwanda, can travel by car via the Cyanika border, and the journey takes about 4 to 5 hours.
- By Air: Tourists traveling by air can take flights from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield and land at Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrips. The flight takes about 1 hour, and tourists will then connect to the park by car.
