Gorilla Habituation Permits in Uganda – Costs, Booking & Guidelines

Gorilla Habituation Permits – Gorilla habituation is a process where mountain gorillas are trained to become accustomed to human presence.

In Uganda, gorilla habituation takes place in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in the southwestern region of the country, in the districts of Kanungu, Kabale, and Kisoro.

Gorilla habituation is one of the most fascinating activities, as it allows tourists to spend more hours with the mountain gorillas in the wild.

Gorilla habituation is recommended for those who can afford it, as it is expensive. It is also suitable for physically fit and enduring individuals, as it takes about 4 to 7 hours to complete in the wild.

During gorilla habituation, tourists follow the same rules as gorilla trekking and wear the same protective clothing. However, only 4 people are allowed to carry out this activity per gorilla family per day.

Gorilla habituation takes place in the Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in the southern region of the park.
