Day 1 – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

On the first day of your 3-Day Gorilla Tracking Bwindi Safari, our safari guide and a representative from our Uganda gorilla trekking company will pick you up from your place of stay and transfer you to Bwindi Forest National Park, home to Uganda’s mountain gorillas.

The journey takes about 8 to 9 hours by road, so be prepared for a long drive. Along the way, you will have a brief stop at the Equator, the line that separates the northern and southern hemispheres of the earth, for coffee and photography moments.

You will then proceed to Mbarara for lunch before continuing your journey to Bwindi, arriving late in the evening.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

You should wake up very early on the second day of your 3-Day Gorilla Tracking Bwindi Safari and have a hearty breakfast, as you are about to embark on a physically challenging activity.

Our guide will drive you to the park headquarters by 7:30 AM, where you will attend a short briefing session before heading into the Bwindi forests to search for the gorillas.

Gorilla tracking typically lasts between 2 to 8 hours, including one full hour of close interaction with these primates. After tracking, you will be transferred back to the lodge to relax.

Day 3 – Transfer to Kampala and Departure

After an early breakfast on the last day of your 3-Day Gorilla Tracking Bwindi Safari, you will embark on a 9-hour drive back to Kampala, with brief stopovers in Mbarara for lunch and at the Equator for more photography and coffee.

Upon reaching Kampala, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
