See the detailed itinerary for the Uganda gorilla trekking and Maasai Mara Safari below.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Depart from Kigali after breakfast and drive towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.

This park hosts the highest number of gorillas, with over 19 habituated gorilla families available for trekking, and is globally recognized for offering gorilla habituation experiences.

Enjoy the scenic journey to the park, and upon arrival, head to your lodge for the night. A city tour of Kigali may also be possible, depending on the available time.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Optional Batwa Community Tour

In the morning, head to the park offices for a briefing session on gorilla trekking.

Park rangers will cover essential details, including rules and regulations, gorilla behavior, and the gorilla family you’ll be trekking.

A ranger guide will then lead you into the forest, home to a rich diversity of wildlife, including various bird species.

Once you locate the gorilla family, you’ll have an hour to observe and capture memories – an experience to cherish for a lifetime.

After the trek, return to your lodge for leisure time, or take an optional tour to visit the Batwa communities at the park’s edge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kisoro Airstrip/Kigali, Fly to to Maasai Mara

Depart for either Kisoro Airstrip or Kigali Airport, depending on flight availability, and fly to the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya for another adventure on the savannah plains.

Upon landing, a representative from our Kenyan team will welcome you and transfer you to this remarkable reserve. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the option to enjoy an evening game drive. Afterward, check in to your reserved accommodation to end the day.

Day 4, 5 & 6: Exploring Masai Mara (Game Drive)

Spend these three days exploring various parts of the reserve. Prime wildlife-viewing spots include the Talek River and Mara River.

With the Mara’s open Savannah landscape, game drives will offer opportunities to see the Big Five animals (rhinos, elephants, lions, leopards, and buffaloes) along with warthogs, bushbucks, waterbucks, gazelles, giraffes, and zebras.

If you’re lucky, you might witness extraordinary moments like predator hunts, sunrises and sunsets, and the wildebeest migration.

Picnic lunches in the heart of the Mara make the experience even more special.

Day 7: Transfer to the Airport and Departure

On the final day of this 7-day Bwindi gorilla trekking from Kigali and Masai Mara safari, enjoy a last morning game drive to capture the Mara’s beauty.

Then, transfer to the airport for your departure.

This itinerary promises an unforgettable week filled with adventure, culture, and amazing wildlife encounters.
