Detailed 21-Day Uganda Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Jinja from Entebbe

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) for your Uganda honeymoon safari, you will be warmly welcomed to the Pearl of Africa.

After a briefing on your 21-day tour, transfer to Jinja, about 120 km away, with a stop at Ssezibwa Falls in Mukono.

Continue through Mabira Forest, arriving in Jinja for lunch. In the evening, enjoy a sunset boat cruise on the Nile.

Day 2: White-Water Rafting & Transfer to Sipi Falls

After breakfast, receive a briefing on your half-day white-water rafting adventure at the Source of the Nile. Start at 9:00 am, navigating the Grade 5 rapids.

Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch before driving 3-4 hours to Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa district.

Day 3: Sipi Falls Hike & Coffee Tour

Begin with breakfast, then set out on a guided hike to explore the three waterfalls of Sipi Falls, each at different altitudes.

The hike lasts 3-4 hours, depending on your fitness level. After lunch, take a coffee tour to learn about coffee production from plant to cup.

Day 4: Sipi to Pian-Upe Game Reserve

Depart Sipi Falls for the plains of Pian-Upe Reserve in northeastern Uganda. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at the safari camp and then visit a Karamojong homestead for an authentic cultural experience.

Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After breakfast, embark on a game drive in Pian-Upe before heading to Kidepo Valley National Park. Look out for buffalo, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, lions, and birds like Karamoja apalis and ostriches.

Day 6: Game Drive & Community Tour in Kidepo

Following breakfast, take a 2-3 hour game drive in Kidepo’s sweeping plains, spotting wildlife like Rothschild giraffes, buffalo, elephants, leopards, and cheetahs.

Later, immerse in the unique Karamojong culture with traditional dance and music performances.

Day 7: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, leave Kidepo for Murchison Falls National Park, a 6-7 hour drive with an en-route lunch stop.

Day 8: Wildlife Encounter in Murchison Falls

Start with early morning tea or coffee before a 6:00 am guided game drive through Murchison Falls’ northern circuit, spotting elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, hartebeests, and oribis.

After lunch, take a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, observing crocodiles, hippos, and aquatic birds.

Day 9: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park via Fort Portal

Depart Murchison Falls for Kibale National Park, a 7-8 hour drive. Stop in Fort Portal for lunch, then continue to Kibale Forest.

Day 10: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast, head to Kanyanchu Visitor Center for a briefing before a 2-4 hour chimpanzee trek.

In the afternoon, take a guided walk through Bigodi Swamp to spot primates, birds, and other wildlife.

Day 11: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Drive 3-4 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After lunch, take a guided game drive in the northern trails.

Day 12: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

In the morning, explore Kasenyi plains on a game drive to see bushbucks, lions, buffaloes, elephants, and Uganda kobs.

Day 13: Ishasha Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi
