Bwindi in February
February is one of the best months for visiting Bwindi impenetrable National Park being a dry month . During February Bwindi impenetrable National receives high temperatures and heavy rainfall. During the day temperatures usually reach up to 26 degrees Celsius and at night temperatures drop up to 15 degrees Celsius. Usually average rainfall is received in the month of February being that Bwindi is a tropical rainforest thus tourists should expect it .
The weather in the month of February is generally pleasant and comfortable for gorilla trekking. Mountain gorillas usually slope down to lower altitudes as they search for food in the park. The trails are also dry due to the light rain showers received thus easier movement through the park .
The vegetation of Bwindi in the month of February is still lush and green because the park receives rainfall to keep the forest vibrant .
Tourists are encouraged to book their gorilla permits in advance because they are limited being that February is a high season.
About Bwindi
Bwindi impenetrable National Park is a home to the critically endangered mountain gorillas .
The park is located in south western Uganda in the districts of Kabale , kisoro and Kanungu .
Bwindi impenetrable forest is one of the oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests in Africa.
The park was established in 1991 by the government of Uganda and as well declared as a UNESCo world heritage site in 1994.
The park is governed by Uganda wildlife Authority a body in charge of National parks in Uganda .
Apart from Mountain gorillas the park habits other mammals such as elephants , forest hogs , chimpanzees and over 350 bird species such as grauers broadbill , Regal sun bird , kivu ground thrush , Shelley’s crimson wing , Blue headed sun bird , African Green Broadbill among others.
