Kutu gorilla group is located in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda, covering the districts of Kabale, Kanungu, and Kisoro.
Rushaga is one of the four sectors of Bwindi where gorilla trekking takes place.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park covers an area of about 321 sq km and was declared a national park in 1991.
The Kutu gorilla family consists of eight members, led by one silverback. This group is currently undergoing habituation, which is a process where gorillas are gradually accustomed to human presence.
Gorilla habituation typically takes about 4 to 6 hours, during which tourists interact with the gorillas.
Trekking Kutu Gorilla Group
Trekking the Kutu gorilla group begins early in the morning at 7 a.m. at the Rushaga park headquarters, where tourists are briefed on trekking rules and regulations.
Trekking is done in the morning because this is when the gorillas are most active.
Tourists are then grouped into teams of eight people and led by a well-trained and armed park ranger into the wilderness to trek the gorillas.
The trek lasts about 4 to 6 hours, and once the gorillas are located, tourists are allowed to spend only 1 hour with them.

Best Time to Visit Kutu Gorilla Group
Kutu gorilla group can be visited year-round; however, the best time to visit this family is during the dry season, from June to September and December to February.
