Buhoma Community Camp is located in Nkwenda, Buhoma, in the northern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
The camp is managed by the Buhoma Community Development Association, which was established in 1993.
It is situated on elevated ground, offering stunning views of the forest and the setting sun.
Buhoma Community Camp comprises 6 well-furnished, self-contained tents, 3 self-contained cottages, 2 non-self-contained twin cottages, bandas, and a 6-bed dormitory.
All rooms at the camp are decorated and designed with African raw materials, showcasing traditional African architecture.
The camp offers both mid-range and budget accommodations without compromising on quality and comfort.

- Restaurant and Bar: The restaurant serves delicious meals, both local and international cuisines, prepared by professional chefs and served by motivated waitstaff. The bar is well-stocked with a variety of drinks and beverages, including beer, wine, spirits, soda, juice, and water.
- Quality Power Source: The camp uses solar electricity to provide light for guests at night. It also provides candles and flashlights in case of a power shortage.

Activities
- Gorilla Trekking: Gorilla trekking is the main activity, and tourists trek families such as Bitukura, Oruzogo, and Kyagurilo. Only 8 people are allowed to trek a particular family per day, and a gorilla permit costs USD 800.
- Birding: Bwindi is home to over 350 bird species, and tourists at Buhoma Community Camp have the opportunity to spot various birds as they relax.
- Nature Walks: Nature walks allow tourists to encounter different park mammals, primates, and forest species, all guided by an armed park ranger.
- Batwa Community Tour: The Batwa are one of the indigenous tribes living in the park, and tourists have the chance to explore their unique culture.
How to Access Buhoma Community Camp
By Road: Tourists can travel from Kampala to Kabale by car, passing through Kampala, Masaka, Mbarara, and Kabale before reaching Buhoma. The journey takes about 8 to 10 hours.
From Rwanda, tourists can access Buhoma in about 4 to 5 hours.
By Air: Tourists can book a flight from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield to Kihihi Airstrip, and then connect to Buhoma Community Camp by car.
