Nshongi Camp is located in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.

The camp is just a few minutes’ walk from the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters and the starting point for gorilla trekking.

Nshongi Camp is a budget accommodation facility offering scenic views of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

The camp comprises 6 traditional African bandas with cozy and comfortable rooms, fully equipped with modern amenities for an impeccable stay after gorilla trekking.

Each traditional banda includes double beds, private bathrooms, beddings, mosquito nets, bed lamps, hot showers, private verandas, flush toilets, tables, and chairs.

Nshongi Camp is unique in that it offers complimentary gorilla dance performances by the Rushaga Young Stars.

There is also a camping area at the lodge, where guests can bring their own tents and immerse themselves in nature.

How to Get There

Nshongi Camp is located 340 km from Entebbe International Airport or Kampala city. Tourists can travel by car from Entebbe or Kampala for about 10 hours and then head to Rushaga to connect to Nshongi Camp.

Alternatively, tourists can use air transport from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield and land at Kisoro Airstrip, then proceed to the lodge by car.
