How to Get There
Tourists can travel by car via Kampala – Masaka – Mbarara – Kabale, then connect to the Buhoma sector of Bwindi and head to the resort, a journey of about 8 to 10 hours.
Tourists from Rwanda can travel via the Cyanika border from Musanze, then connect to Kabale, and head to the Buhoma sector of Bwindi to reach the resort in about 4 to 5 hours.
Alternatively, tourists can take a flight from Entebbe or Kajjansi Airfield to Kisoro Airstrip, followed by a car transfer to the resort.
Activities at the Lodge
- Gorilla Trekking: As the major activity, tourists can book permits in advance, costing about USD 800. Treks are available in the four sectors of Bwindi: Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo.
- Gorilla Habituation: This activity involves training gorillas to become accustomed to humans, lasting about 4 hours with the gorillas. It is a limited and highly interesting experience, requiring advance booking.
- Batwa Cultural Experience: The Batwa cultural experience allows tourists to learn about the ways of life of the Batwa pygmies and the history of the ancient forest.
- Nature Walks: Nature walks enable tourists to explore the forest, encountering various wildlife species such as birds, trees, and mammals.
