Ride for a Woman Bwindi: Empowering Women through Tourism & Skills

Ride for a Woman Bwindi – Ride for a Woman Bwindi is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) comprising over 300 women members, established with the purpose of empowering and teaching women practical skills that they can use to earn a living.

It is also a charitable organization set up to uplift women suffering from extreme poverty in the region, those facing domestic violence, and those affected by HIV/AIDS, helping them navigate the changing conditions of society.

Ride for a Woman Bwindi is located in the Buhoma sector in northern Bwindi, situated in the heart of Buhoma town.

The organization initially began by renting bikes to tourists who wanted to cycle around the forest. It later expanded its services significantly, eventually establishing a guest house where tourists visiting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park can stay during their visit.

All the revenue generated by the project is invested in supporting the women.
