4-Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Lake Bunyonyi Leisure Tour

Craving a 4-day gorilla trekking tour in Uganda? Want to trek Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi, get tired, and then unwind at Lake Bunyonyi?

This 4-day gorilla and Lake Bunyonyi safari highlights a Mountain Gorilla trekking activity in Bwindi Forest National Park, followed by an excursion at Lake Bunyonyi.

It’s perfect for those who want to trek and relax afterward.

This 4-day gorilla trekking honeymoon tour can be a budget or luxury experience depending on your budget and lodging choice.

A luxury experience offers the best moments, and we recommend it if you can afford it.

Gorilla trekking is a physically demanding activity. You’ll likely feel exhausted after the trek, and if you’re not strong and determined, you may feel like giving up midway.

The good news is that the group moves at the pace of the slowest person, and even if you feel like stopping, other members will motivate you to keep going until you reach the gorillas.

This 4-day gorillas & Bunyonyi package is designed to let you trek and then relax at the shores of one of the most beautiful lakes in Africa.

As one of Uganda’s tour and travel operators specializing in gorilla safaris, we offer discounts for groups of 4 or more.

Detailed 4-Day Bwindi Gorillas & Lake Bunyonyi Tour Itinerary

4-Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Lake Bunyonyi Leisure Tour

Day 1 – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

On the first day of your 4-day gorilla trekking honeymoon safari, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and begin the journey to Bwindi.

You’ll stop at the Equator for coffee and photography—a memorable experience.

The Equator separates the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, so visiting this spot is like being at the center of the Earth.

Feel free to take photos with each foot on a different hemisphere.

You will have lunch en route in Mbarara before proceeding to Bwindi, where you’ll arrive in the evening, have dinner, and rest in preparation for the breathtaking activity the following day.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

On the second day of your 4-day gorilla trekking tour, you’ll trek the Mountain Gorillas of Bwindi.

After an early breakfast, you’ll attend the 7:30 AM pre-briefing meeting before venturing into the forest to find the gorillas.

The trek will take between 2 and 8 hours, depending on how long it takes to locate the primates, including one full hour of close interaction with these gentle giants.

After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch and later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 3 – Full Day at Lake Bunyonyi

On the third day of your 4-day gorilla trekking tour, you’ll spend the entire day relaxing while enjoying the beautiful views of Lake Bunyonyi.

You can engage in activities such as canoeing, community visits, and a visit to the Punishment Island, where you’ll learn about its history.

This island was where girls who engaged in premarital intercourse were abandoned without food or water.

If no man came to rescue them, they would perish; however, if a man took the risk to save her, he would get a wife for free.

Day 4 – Transfer to Kampala and Departure

This is the last day of your 4-day gorilla trekking tour.

Considering the distance between Bwindi and Kampala, you will need to depart early to catch your return flight on time.

Upon reaching Kampala, you’ll either be transferred to a hotel of your choice or dropped off at the airport for your return flight.

End of 4-Day Gorilla and Lake Bunyonyi Tour.
