3-Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Dian Fossey Grave Tour

5-Day Rwanda Double Gorilla Trekking Tour in Volcanoes Park

3 Days Affordable Rwanda Gorilla Trekking – Tiny Rwanda, also known as the land of a thousand hills and mountains, is home to a significant portion of the world’s critically endangered mountain gorillas in the jungles of Volcanoes National Park in Musanze, located in the northern province of Rwanda.

Some of these mountain gorillas have been habituated for gorilla trekking, and travelers on gorilla safaris in Rwanda are allocated to specific habituated gorilla families to track.

This affordable 3-Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari includes an exciting Kigali City excursion, featuring visits to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Monument, a place that commemorates the 1994 Rwandan genocide.

The package also highlights a visit to Dian Fossey’s tomb, a visit to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, along with the main activity—gorilla trekking in the misty jungles of Volcanoes National Park.

This trip is part of our Rwanda group safaris and tours. You can also book it as part of a group. We are one of the Rwanda travel companies that offer significant discounts to group travelers.

Mountain Gorilla Tracking is an extraordinary safari activity that will undoubtedly give you unforgettable memories in Rwanda. You can never truly understand the experience unless you are part of it!

Encountering these gentle primates in their natural habitats as they forage, play, and socialize is a highly rewarding sight.

This 3-day gorilla trekking package is ideal for moderate-budget travelers but can also be adjusted for typical budget travelers.

The selected accommodation for this package, Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, is a mid-range facility, as we prioritize your comfort.

Typical budget lodges often come with uncertainties like broken sinks, bed bugs in some cases, and poor service, which could ruin your safari experience.

For this reason, we opt for comfortable or luxury lodges in all our safari packages, unless a client insists on budget lodges.

3-Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Dian Fossey Grave Tour

Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Musanze

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our company representative and your safari guide, who will get you into the safari mood right away.

They will brief you on your 3-Day Affordable Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari package.

You will then drive around Kigali City, visiting sites such as the Gisozi Genocide Memorial, craft villages, and markets, along with other notable places, depending on how much time is available.

You will have lunch at Hotel Des Mille Collines (famous as Hotel Rwanda), and afterward, take a 3-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri, located in the northern province of Rwanda.

Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful countryside landscapes, with rolling hills and mountains.

Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

On this day, we will embark on our Rwanda Gorilla Trekking experience, so we must rise early and have a hearty breakfast.

We should also pack a few drinks, preferably energy drinks, along with lunch before heading to the park headquarters in Kinigi for a short briefing session.

After the briefing, we will head into the jungles of Volcanoes National Park in search of the gentle, shy, and endangered mountain gorillas of Rwanda.

This is the highlight of your 3-Day Affordable Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari.

The gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park is about more than just encountering the gorillas.

The magnificent views of the volcanic mountains that share borders with Uganda, Congo, and Rwanda, the rolling green vegetation covering them, and the numerous species of birds, along with wildlife like buffaloes, all contribute to long-lasting Rwanda safari memories.

Gorilla trekking typically lasts between 2 to 8 hours or more, depending on how the mountain gorillas move.

However, it is rare to go more than 3 hours without spotting Rwanda’s mountain gorillas.

We will have a full hour of direct contact with these primates before returning to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, preparing for more exciting activities the next day.

Day 3: Hike the Dian Fossey Site and Transfer Back to Kigali

After an early breakfast at your accommodation, you will embark on a fascinating hike to Dian Fossey’s tomb at Karisoke Research Center.

Dian Fossey was an American zoologist who dedicated her life to the conservation of mountain gorillas, receiving international recognition for her efforts.

While in Rwanda, she established her research base between the Karisimbi and Bisoke mountains.

This grave site offers valuable information about mountain gorillas and their conservation history.

Fossey’s tomb lies next to her favorite silverback, Digit. This adventurous hike should take 4 to 5 hours, after which we will return and embark on a journey back to Kigali City, marking the end of your Rwanda travel holiday.
